The International Baccalaureate (IB), formerly known as the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), is a non-profit international educational foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and founded in 1968. It offers four educational programmes: the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the IB Career-related Programme(IBCP) for students aged 16 to 19, the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) for students aged 11 to 16, and the IB Primary Years Programme(IBPYP) for children aged 3 to 12. To teach these programmes, schools must be authorized by the International Baccalaureate.
The IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) is a rigorous pre-university high school programme equivalent to class XI and XII. The International Baccalaureate Diploma is an internationally respected and recognized qualification. The programme encourages both personal and academic achievement, challenging students to excel in their studies and helps the students in a better understanding of the subject and aims towards their holistic academic development.

Although the PYP, MYP and DP form a continuous sequence, each can be offered independently too.
A student can join the IB Diploma Program after completing the grade 10 level equivalent qualifications from any national or international board like CAIE , ICSE , CBSE, SSC or any recognized education Board. The Diploma program is equivalent to 10+2 level qualification.
The rigor and high standards of the IBDP ensure that colleges and universities around the world recognize the IB Diploma as a superior academic program and a strong university – entry credential. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) rates the IB Diploma at par with Class 12 CBSE, ICSE, NIOS or State Boards. Many educational institutions and colleges have published their policies and entry criteria for IB students on their websites. The IB Diploma has earned universal reputation for rigorous assessment, giving students access to the top colleges and universities in India and the world. IB is fast becoming the program of choice for Indian students preparing to pursue higher education abroad.The IB curriculum equips students with the tools needed to succeed in higher education, such as self-confidence, preparedness, research skills, organizational skills and being actively engaged in self learning.

University admissions around the world are getting competitive by the day. Admission officers are increasingly looking for other evidence that a student will succeed in the university – such as exposure to quality curriculum, research abilities, an international outlook and social service – all enhanced by the IBDP.
For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP), there are two examination sessions each year. These are in May and November. For the May session, results are issued on 5 July. IBDP and IBCP Results are released on the candidate website from 12.00 GMT on 6 July for May exam sessions.
The IB is designed as a model of holistic education for the mid-range student and above. Statistically speaking, most students who earned the IB Diploma worldwide were of average or above average ability. It is not a program designed only for geniuses. What the IB program requires students to have are a strong work ethic, good time-management and solid study skills. The IB program offers courses at different levels (Higher Level and Standard Level). In addition, language courses range from introductory level to native-speaker level.
The school runs from 8: 00 am to 4:00 pm
Students must carry their own laptop to school every day.
At DYPIS, we believe that every student has a right to express himself/herself as individuals and we begin this with having no uniforms. It is expected that students dress appropriately and hence there is a dress code.
Yes, we have an independent transport service within the radius of 15 kms from the school at present. However, based on a reasonable number of admissions beyond 15 kms, we could arrange for transportation accordingly.
We have canteens on our campus and students can purchase lunch and/or snacks from the canteen, or may bring a packed lunch from home.
Students are expected to attend school at all times unless excused by their parents or caregivers appointed by their parents. The minimum attendance requirement for all students is 90%.
All courses/grades are yearlong ‘courses’ and follow an academic year which begins in August and ends in June.

An application starts with the online application form, which requires several documents along with the submission of the form. If your application is accepted, your child will be invited for an interview and assessment at our school. Learn more at ……
We do offer meritorious scholarships to the deserving students. We also offer need based scholarship subject to certain conditions. For details, contact admissions team.
We don’t have any application deadlines for student admissions. We have a rolling admissions policy, and we will accept applications around the year as long as places are available. Admissions will also be made around the year, subject to vacancies and availability of space in the concerned classes. However, we have a class limit of 20 students in one single division for grade 11. We have only one section this year and once full, there are no further admissions. Therefore, it is advisable to take admissions early.
Yes, we do have a standardized screening test

Teachers are professionals, highly approachable and treat all staff and students with respect. A continued and regular feedback helps parents understand their child’s progress-there are no surprises. Due to small cohort sizes every teacher knows his/her students well and can help better students through a strong teaching-learning pedagogy.

Cambridge IGCSE is – International General Certificate of Secondary Education It is the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14-16 year olds, leading to globally recognised and valued Cambridge IGCSE qualifications. It is part of the Cambridge Secondary 2 stage.
IGCSE exams are taken for the June and November sessions and Only for India the March session is also available.
The IGCSE exams are conducted by the CAIE board (Cambridge Assessment International Education)
Cambridge qualifications are recognised and valued by universities all around the world, including in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, Germany and beyond. In places such as the United States and Canada, good grades in carefully chosen Cambridge International A Level subjects can result in up to one year of university course credit.
Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has granted equivalence to Cambridge IGCSE.
National and State exam boards in India recognise these qualifications as equivalent to secondary and senior secondary qualifications respectively on the basis of equivalence granted by AIU
It is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14–16 year olds as it equips students with skills for immediate foundation year of University.
After the completion of IGCSE programme the students join the IBDP programme at D Y Patil international school Pune. However the other options available in other institutes are the Cambridge Advanced for international curriculum and any other Higher secondary curriculum of the Indian boards.
The IGCSE results for the March session are released in May, the June session in August and the November session in January every year.
Cambridge IGCSE assessment takes place at the end of the course and can include written, oral, coursework and practical assessment. In many subjects there is a choice between core and extended curricula, making Cambridge IGCSE suitable for a wide range of abilities.
Yes, the IGCSE students of D Y Patil International School can continue their studies at any other IGCSE school if the need arises as long as the subjects remain the same.
